We’re really proud to play a part in their busy day-to-day world by providing a class-leading vehicle they can truly rely on.
A Decade of Partnership
Bromsgrove Logistics is a thriving, small-to-medium enterprise that specialises in the careful movement of all kinds of vehicles. They handle everything from everyday family cars needing transport to prestige models requiring extra gentle care. Day in and day out, their operation demands fleet vehicles that aren’t just robust but are meticulously designed to make life easier and more efficient for the drivers.
This is why the working relationship with AKFS has lasted so long. It’s more than a transaction; it’s a friendly partnership, built on years of excellent communication and a shared commitment to quality.
The Challenge
For any ambitious logistics firm, the constant, challenging question is how to maximise carrying capacity without compromising legal compliance or operational safety.
Bromsgrove Logistics identified the 6,500kg Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) sector as the perfect bracket. It offers a significant payload increase over standard 3.5-tonne carriers while still maintaining excellent manoeuvrability for operating in varied environments across the UK.
Moving up to the 6.5-tonne chassis only delivers a financial advantage if the subsequent body conversion is engineered to be as light as possible. Using a heavy, non-specialist conversion would immediately eat into that vital payload, defeating the purpose of the larger chassis and hindering profitability. They needed a vehicle that could consistently carry the heaviest, most profitable loads possible. They also needed assurance that the build would last, resisting the wear and tear that quickly degrades lesser-quality bodies.
This is the precise problem we specialise in solving.
Our Solution
The vehicle Bromsgrove Logistics entrusted us to build was an efficient Isuzu 6500kg GVW N Series chassis, which we transformed with our bespoke Car Transporter conversion.
Choosing the Isuzu chassis was a sound decision, providing the ideal platform for a higher payload. Our role was to ensure that every single element of the bodywork added the least possible weight while delivering the maximum possible strength.
Engineering Lightweight Reliability
Our reputation is built on our ability to engineer class-leading payloads. We achieve this by focusing on lightweight construction, primarily utilising high-tensile aluminium in the build.
This advanced material selection drastically minimises the dead weight of the transporter body itself. The result? Maximum permissible weight is left over for the actual cargo, the cars that Bromsgrove Logistics is paid to move.
We ensure that the unladen weight is kept to an absolute minimum, translating directly into a higher profitable payload on every single journey. This focus on efficiency allows them to confidently take on heavier transport jobs that competitors might have to turn away, giving them a significant and quantifiable business edge.
Built for the Long Haul
A key element of our partnership is delivering durability and resilience. We know commercial vehicles endure a tough life. Our conversion is built to withstand it.
Our Car Transporter body features a robust, lightweight design, incorporating a fully galvanised sub-chassis to provide superior protection against corrosion, a major operational hazard in the UK.
The usability and safety are prioritised in every detail:
Our precision-engineered ramps ensure a very low loading angle. This is critical for safely recovering and transporting modern, low-profile, high-value vehicles without the risk of expensive undercarriage damage.
The use of specialist construction methods means the body remains structurally sound over years of heavy use, minimising the risk of costly downtime and maintenance headaches.
We believe that when a customer takes delivery of one of our vehicles, they are receiving an asset that is ready for the road and will remain reliable, keeping operational costs low and ensuring high levels of service for their own clients.
The Value of a Specialist Partnership
Our relationship with Bromsgrove Logistics is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when a business partners with a specialist. It’s about more than just a sale; it’s about providing a precision-engineered tool that directly enhances their operational capabilities and profitability.

A Partnership for the Future

It’s a genuine vote of confidence in a product that has been rigorously tested across Britain's motorways and side roads.
“We’ve been coming back to AKFS for over ten years now because the quality is simply unmatched, and frankly, the relationship is just so easy,” Paul says “From the very first Ultra Car Transporter to this latest Isuzu 6.5-tonne model, the build is always solid, the engineering is smart, and the team are fantastic to work with.
