Weighing in at 3,500kg GVW (with a 4,500kg GVW option), the Plant & Go® vehicle can be driven by anyone with a standard UK driving licence, eliminating the need for additional driver qualifications. This makes it an ideal choice for hire companies looking to streamline logistics while reducing costs associated with specialist vehicle hire or driver training.
Built for the demands of the hire industry, the Plant & Go® vehicle is fully customisable, allowing you to transport a variety of equipment, from mini diggers and dumpers to compactors, generators, and power tools.
The low-floor chassis, with a floor height of just 530mm, ensures easy, efficient loading and unloading at any location, whether on a busy construction site or a residential driveway. When not in use, the ramps are securely stowed to the side of the vehicle, keeping the deck clear and ensuring equipment is transported safely. Drop sides and a full tailgate are available as optional extras, providing additional security and flexibility.

FAQs
The Plant & Go® is designed for plant and tool hire operators that need to transport plant machinery, tools and equipment to customer sites, including construction sites, residential properties and commercial projects.
The Plant & Go® can be used to transport equipment including mini diggers, dumpers, compactors, generators, power tools and scissor lifts. Suitability will depend on the dimensions and weight of the individual machine or load.
The Plant & Go® offers a payload of up to approximately 1,500 kg. Final usable payload is vehicle- and specification-dependent and will vary according to the selected chassis, body configuration and optional equipment fitted.
The Plant & Go® load bed is approximately 530 mm from the ground. The low-floor design helps make loading and unloading plant, machinery and equipment easier.
Plant & Go® load-bed lengths are available from approximately 3.6 m up to 4.5 m. The final body dimensions will depend on the selected chassis and vehicle specification.
The Plant & Go® uses its low-floor layout, beavertail rear end and lightweight removable side ramps to provide a straightforward loading arrangement. The ramps are stored alongside the deck when not in use.
The standard specification includes recessed tie rings for load restraint. Fall-arrest straps are also available where required as part of the vehicle specification.
The 4,500 kg Plant & Go® provides approximately 900 kg more payload than the 3,500 kg version and is available with an automatic gearbox only. Additional driving-licence, tachograph and operator-licence requirements apply when operating above 3.5 tonnes GVW.
A standard UK driving licence is required for the 3,500 kg Plant & Go®. A C1 licence is required for the 4,500 kg version. Customers should ensure the driver holds the appropriate entitlement for the vehicle being operated.
The Plant & Go® is available on Fiat and Peugeot base vehicles. The appropriate chassis and GVW can be discussed with the AKFS team as part of the vehicle specification.
Standard equipment includes lightweight removable side ramps, a type-approved galvanised ladder- frame chassis, closed deck with flat bed, extruded aluminium non-slip floor, recessed tie rings, approximately 530 mm working height, beavertail rear end, up to approximately 1,500 kg payload and Whole Vehicle Type Approval.
Options include an assisted tailgate, recessed winch, a range of tool lockers, roof-mounted lights, removable caged sides, fall-arrest bars, drop sides and a full tailgate. Available equipment can be discussed as part of the vehicle specification.
Yes. The Plant & Go® can be configured around requirements such as load-bed length, tool-locker provision and towing ability, subject to the selected chassis, payload and vehicle specification.
Pricing depends on the selected chassis, GVW, body specification and optional equipment. AKFS can provide an accurate quotation once the intended plant, equipment and operating requirements have been discussed.
Please contact AKFS to discuss current chassis availability, production scheduling and the specification required. Availability will vary according to the selected chassis, body configuration and equipment.
